SYNECDEMUS NOVUS

The dataset describes archaeological sites on Crete from the Roman to the Venetian period. The data inform on changes in settlement patterns and land use during the long Byzantine period (A. D. 324 - 1204) with the "interlude" of the Emirate of Crete (A. D. 824 - 961). The database was created within the project 19-18112S of the Czech Science Foundation "Crete in the period of Arab expansion (7th – 9th century A.D.): the issue of its absolute chronology".
